What to expect when you join your first class in Sevenoaks

You will be greeted with a warm welcome when you join any of my Sevenoaks or online pilates classes.

If you are feeling a bit nervous about coming along, let me reassure you, that once you’ve stepped foot in the door you will be put at ease. Choosing & starting a new class isn’t always easy & I’m hoping the initial phone chat will have helped set your mind at rest.

Lots of my class members wear leggings, a t-shirt or joggers & a light sweatshirt. Bare feet or pilates socks work well too. Come along so you feel comfortable & can move freely.

I have all the equipment you need from mats to magic circles. You can bring a small hand towel or cushion for supporting your head & neck if you like.

Starting promptly is essential as I know everyone’s time is precious! We might start standing or on the mat & the first few movements are a warmup to prepare your body & mind for the class.

During the class we work fluidly through a series of exercises that are repeated & each week we will add a new challenge. Small equipment like resistance bands, pilates balls & hand weights all help to make the class fun & interesting as well as adding intensity. There is always time to make adjustments & take options where necessary.

Pilates Essentials (Monday 920am – 1020am) is a perfect class to start for midlife women.  This class focuses on all the Pilates foundations of movement, breath, control, strength & flexibility for a fantastic feel-good factor.

Towards the end of the class there is time to enjoy some more gentle stretches & slower movements all to ambient music to prepare your body & mind for stepping back into the rest of your day.

There is always time to chat at the end of the class & I will be there to answer any questions.

Please note any new clients must complete a PARQ form before attending their first class.
